THE UNDERAGE NEIGHBORS
In recent days we paid a visit to Mrs. Maria Adamczyk, who told us the tragic story of her cousin, Jan Plewik from Zastaw, nowadays this town is within the borders of the City of Bełżyce.
Jan Plewik was a bachelor, who lived with his mother Jadwiga. They gave shelter to the children of their neighbors – Hania, Hersiek and Hula Kamionek, who lived in a house opposite the Plewiks farm. Jan prepared a hiding place for them in farm buildings and looked after them together with his mother Jadwiga. When the Navy-Blue Police discovered that the Plewik family was hiding Jews, they came to their farm, first they shot the Jews, Jan tried to escape but was killed on the threshold of his own house, he was only 34 years old.
