Mrs. Maria Żuchalkowska shared the story of saving two Jewish women, a mother with a child. Maria lived with her parents, Edmund and Stanisława Umińska, in Kupiczwola.

Stanisława Lachowska and her daughter were hiding in Lviv with Maria’s aunt, Jadwiga Dobrzęcka. When things got dangerous, Maria’s sister Helena Umińska brought a Jewish woman and her child from Lviv to her parents’ estate. They all happily survived the war. After the war, the rescued left for Israel.
