LITTLE GIRL
In the village of Miłaczewka we met with a witness of history, Mrs. Daniela Małolepsza née Czapla, daughter of Wiktor and Janina. Mrs. Daniela told us the story of saving a little girl of Jewish origin.
During the occupation, the girls spent a lot of time together – in the room, in the attic. They played, laughed, told stories, sometimes argued – like children. They were happy together, although the parents of one of them, Daniela, were very worried. Their daughter’s playmate was Jewish. Some time earlier, her father had come to Wiktor and Janina Czapla and asked them to take the girl in if there was any danger. The Poles agreed, though not without fear. They hid her in the house of little Daniela’s grandmother, in Miłaczewek, and there they took care of her.
