Irena Bocian lived in Gniewoszów (Świętokrzyskie voivodeship) during the Second World War. Irena was a teacher and was involved in helping the Jewish population. She hid Jews and provided them with food. She saved the Winnykamień family of five.

Irena Bocian was awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations in 2017.
