Further names of murdered people appeared on the walls of the Memorial Chapel in Toruń.
The Memorial Chapel in the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary Star of New Evangelization and St. John Paul II is a unique monument commemorating Poles who risked their lives to save Jews during World War II.
The initiator and patron of this work is Father Tadeusz Rydzyk CSsR – Founder and Director of Radio Maryja. The chapel was built according to the concept of engineer Andrzej Ryczek – architect, author of the Sanctuary project.
On the walls of the chapel there are written the names of Poles who were murdered saving the lives of Jews. The St. John Paul II Memory and Identity Institute at the Lux Veritatis Foundation is constantly conducting research in this area. A few days ago, another 115 people appeared in the chapel, who sacrificed their lives saving the Jewish population from extermination.
