FRANCISZEK AND MARIA FORYŚ WITH FAMILY

You are here:

The beginning of the war. The elderly are sitting on the corner of the Forys’ barn, observing the guesthouse. Suddenly a German motorbike appears on the road. – To the orchard! – a command is given and the entire six-member Abent family runs for cover. Maria Foryś comes out onto the porch with her parents and three toddlers. The Germans – ready to conduct a search – miraculously give up. Had they carried it out, they would have found a suitcase with valuables, Jewish books, Polish uniforms and… Jews. After this incident, the Jews stayed in Setna village for many more days. In late autumn they left for Lviv.
