A CARD FROM THE CALENDAR - WŁODZIMIERZ HOŁOWID
Włodzimierz Hołowid had secrets hidden under the guise of hus easy-going affable personality. He was a sensitive, empathetic man, mada all the more sensitive by the turmoil of war. Small children waiting for him each day when he returned from work were a balm on his soul. He knew how lucky they were to live together, not divided, and not behind the German-patrolled walls of the ghetto. Without saying anything to his wife, not wanting to endanger her or his children, he masterminded a plan to rescue people from the Przemyśl ghetto. He led more than a dozen Jews out of the ghetto.
