A CARD FROM THE CALENDAR - STEFANIA PIETROW
Neither Stefania nor her brother Aleksander ever succumbed to the atmosphere of intimidation and blackmail. During the occupation, their apartment in Warsaw stood open to conspirators and fugitives of various nationalities, including Jews. Thanks to their help, survivors included Edwarda Salamon with her 8-year-old son, Ignac Rozenkranc, and young Henryk Karolicki – all of whom were considered Semitic inferiors by the Germans and sentenced to extermination.
