A CARD FROM THE CALENDAR - MARIA AND FRANCIS FORYS
It was late in the evening. Maria was astounded to see six additional people on the cart that her husband, Franciszek, drove home. These were the three generations of a single family, including two little children, Marcel and Henryk. This Jewish family had escaped the bombardment of Lublin and turned out to be friends with the Foryśes’ cousins. For a couple of weeks, the Abents lived in the Foryśes farmstead, successfully avoiding German checks and searches. After some time, they went further east.
