A CARD FROM THE CALENDAR - FR. JOSEPH KUCZEK

You are here:

The canon of the Mała parish, pseudonym “Bies”, was the chaplain of the Home Army Dębica post. Having assumed the parish in 1942, he initiated a wide-ranging campaign to help every victim of the German terror in his district. These were mostly people forcibly evicted from the Zamość and Poznań provinces, members of PPR [Polish Workers’ Party], and Jews. He provided them with false birth and baptism certificates. He also hid his neighbour, Józef Serafin, in the presbytery.
