A CARD FROM THE CALENDAR - ANTONI AND MARIANNA SŁOWIŃSKI
Józef Jakubowicz and Antoni Słowiński were friends from an early age, and the war only affirmed their friendship. When the campaign against Jews began, Antoni found Józef a job, and some time later he and his wife offered him to live with them. The man enjoyed the hospitality of the Poles until 1942. It was then that his identity was discovered by the Germans and he was ordered to move to the Lodz ghetto. He survived, and after the war left for Israel.
