During World War II Józef Bartkowski (a.k.a. „Zapalniczka”) lived in Rakszawa (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). Husband of Józefa (a.k.a. „Dziarska”), father of Irena (married name Garbacik). Together with his wife Józef was involved in helping the Goldberg and Wilbersztajn Jewish families.

Węgliska is a Polish village located near the Rakszawy town in Subcarpathian Voivodeship (region łańcucki). During German occupation most of Jews living in surrounding areas were murdered.
