Władysław Bafia was born on 20 November 1923 in Zakopane-Olcza. Son of Stanisław and Zofia. During World War II he lived in Zakopane. Wladyslaw helped Jews, one of the ways he did this was by delivering their correspondence. As a result of these activities he was arrested and imprisoned in KL Auschwitz. Later he was transferred to KL Buchenwald, after which he was imprisoned in KL Mittelbau, where he lived to see liberation.
