Barbara Olędzka was born in Łowicz, where her parents Helena and Michał Dąbrowski owned a bakery. After her father’s death, Barbara’s grandparents – Helena and Bolesław Kaczmarek – moved into the house on Kilińskiego Street to help run the bakery. Collectively, the family hid four Jewish people called Baum in their house.
