Stanisław Szumski recounts pre-war Polish-Jewish relations in the village of Tur (now Ukraine), where he was born. Wiktoria and Józef Szumski, Stanisław’s parents, had six children. They ran a farm in Tur.

Stanisław also describes how Jews functioned during the war. What conditions they had in the dugout where they were hiding and how his parents became involved in helping them. They gave them food several times at night and allowed them to wash themselves.
