Władysław Augustyn was born in 1922 in the village of Szerzyny (Małopolskie Voivodeship). The son of Józefa and Józef – murdered for helping Jews. During the Second World War he lived in Szerzyny together with his parents. His family helped Jews, among others the Hirszfeld family.
