Michał Błocki lived with his sons in Kobryń (now Belarus) during the Second World War. Father of Roman, Zbigniew and Waldemar. All four were involved in helping people of Jewish origin, such as providing food, sheltering them and organising their escape.

During the occupation, Fr Władysław Grobelny was the vicar of the parish in Kobryn (currently #Belarus). Along with the parish priest, Fr Jan Wolski, he was accused of helping the Jews.
