Halina Błaszczyk (née Babiarz) was born on 8 April in Izbica (Lubelskie voivodeship). During World War II, she lived in her home town. Daughter of Kazimiera (née Bobis). Mrs. Błaszczyk sheltered Jews, among others Chanan Lipszyc. Halina Błaszczyk was awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations in 1985.

Kazimiera Babiarz was born on 21st February 1905. During World War II she lived in the village of Izbica (Lublin voivodship). Halina’s mother. Together with her daughter, she helped a 14-year-old Jew called Hanan Lipszyc, hiding him in her house and providing him with food. After the war, the boy emigrated to Israel.
