Mikołaj and Helena Artymiak lived in the village of Kukawka (Lubelskie voivodeship) during World War II. The parents of Eugenia. They were sheltering two Jews (Dora Libman – daughter of the rabbi from Włodawa and a Jew called Rab).

Mikołaj and Helena Artymiak were awarded the title Righteous Among the Nations in 1989.
