Bakal ...
During World War II, Marian Bakal and his wife lived in Warsaw’s Żoliborz district. The couple took in a three-year-old Jewish girl, Ewa. After some time, the girl was taken away by her mother and the Bakals helped to find shelter for 6 Jews – escapees from the ghetto. Later, they took care of a 10-year-old Jewish boy from Lviv. They also took in a Jewish man – Michał Kuc, owner of the Stylowy cinema, and his cousin Pola Klingier. All the Jews sheltered by the Bakals survived the War.
