Eleven stab wounds were inflicted by German military policemen on Maksymilian Gruszczyński, a carpenter from Białobrzegi, for allowing Jews to bake bread in his kitchen. The Germans committed this crime on July 10, 1942. The bodies of a Pole and the Jews he helped were thrown into a pit dug in the street.
