18 December 1943. It seemed that everything was as it always was: Julian Maciejko carefully accessed the Tarnów Ghetto and entered one of the buildings. As usual, he had food with him. He lived in Tarnów and for a long time had been organizing help for the people locked up in the nearby ghetto. He personally provided them with what they needed most. This time, however, he did not return from the ghetto – he was shot dead in the ghetto as a result of a denunciation.
