The Namysłów couple was living in Miedzeszyn near Warsaw, at 6 Sosnowa Street. Their daughter Halina was a nurse and liaison officer in the Grey Ranks, and their son-in-law Mieczysław was a cadet in the Home Army. They saw each other rarely, so the Namysłów were in constant longing and fear for their lives. When Halina visited her parents in the late summer of 1943, she found Niusia, a 10-year-old Jewish girl-daughter, in their flat. A few days earlier, Germans had raised hell for Jews in the area. Niusia’s parents, wanting to protect their own child, hid her with their neighbours. Niusia spent a few days in Miedzeszyn, then Halina and her husband hid her in Otwock.
