During the German occupation, the Olpinski family lived in Świder near Warsaw. Today, it is one of the districts of Otwock.

Ewa Zaremba nee Olpińska recalls what life was like for her parents and grandparents during World War II and describes her heroic deeds of helping Jews. One of those rescued from the Warsaw ghetto was a Jewish acquaintance of the Olpińskis – Romana.
