Thursday, March 30, 1944. – On that day the world ended for Karol Bajak from Nisk (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). He died as a political prisoner in the Flossenbürg concentration camp, famous for its „granite success”. Karol also had his share in it – forced to slave labor in the nearby stone quarries, side by side with thousands of other Poles. He was sent to Flossenbürg for helping Jews. His wife and son managed to escape in time.
