Jozef Kubik, like two other Jozefs: Mech and Ochał, were unlucky to live near the forest. „If they live by the forest, they certainly help the Jews, who are hiding there,” the Germans concluded. „And if they help them, there must be a punishment according to the law.” – they reasoned. And so it was only on the basis of an assumption that on July 6, 1943 the Germans murdered three men named Jozef from Zagorzyce in the Ropczyce district.
