Joanna Abucewicz lived with her husband Wincenty and daughter Regina in Troki (now Lithuania). When, in 1941, the persecution of the Jewish population intensified, the pregnant woman supported the Bonimowicz family of Jewish pharmacists with food. The whole family was later taken away by the Germans and perished in Ponary. Probably only the youngest son of the Bonimowicz family managed to survive.
