A CARD FROM THE CALENDAR - WŁADYSŁAW AND ANASTASIA BRODZIAK
Until 1942, the Brodziak family lived on Washington Street. They moved to Bukowa Street because a nosy janitor noticed that they were hiding someone. That someone was Julian Huńka, a Jewish engineer. Yet things did not get any easier in the new location. In the spring, a couple of strangers knocked on their door: Henryk and Karolina Korska (actually Finkel). – We will not let people die,” decided the Brodziaks. They took in the wife of their pre-war acquaintance with her little son. All of them, except Władysław, survived – he was killed in the uprising.
